We’re living it, with my 2011 Renault Twingo, my dad’s 2015 Peugeot 308 SW company car, and my brother’s 2014 Peugeot 208. Combining to 11 cylinders with 4 liters of displacement, and a grand total of 275 hp. Sorry that the 308 is a bit hidden in this picture, the opportunity arose after cleaning and vacuuming the Twingo, which is why they are just iPotato pictures, luckily the iPotato has come a long way!

Must say the 308 is the the nicest to be in, being equipped with a panoramic windscreen/roof extending till over the rear seat, sport seats and a touch screen controlling almost everything(though it is very slow and has a terrible GUI), but the Twingo is definitely the sportiest to drive.

Just look at it, isn’t it lovely when it is clean.

ps.: Would anybody like an Oppo-review of any of these cars? Because they are fairly run of the mill here, but I can imagine you guys being curious since they are unobtainium in the states.

I finishing up the Clio seat install on mine, previously had the Clio seat cushions on the Twingo frame but now I’m welding in the proper adjustable base. Gets rid of the high driving position you get in the lower spec twingos.

Relatively tame compared to asking for a Lancia Stratos.

That sounds great, because the driving position really is too high, it’s not like I am really tall or anything at a bit over 1.80m, but it I sit up straight and have the sun visor down I can hardly see anything, leading to me sitting in the car as some kind of Quasimodo. However I’d rather be looking at an easier seat change, since I have never really learned how to weld, so I would probably mess it up. Maybe I should look into getting some higher spec Twingo seats, but those are still flat as hell.

Yeah I’m fairly short and the seating still bothered me. You can just buy the RS Twingo seats but they can be pricey, I got a good deal on these seats so it was worth the effort. It is a pain having to measure and weld mounting points and swap over pretensioners etc though.

I’d love a review of the 308 SW since it seems like something I would genuinely buy myself if I ever moved to Europe. Ordinary and practical, but with more French esotericness than, say, a Focus or Golf wagon. Of course, I would appreciate reviews of all of them, but as always, do as your life and schedule allows ;)

Indeed it’s a really nice quirky thing in a sea of normal wagons, however they have sold so many of them now over here, they’re everywhere. That is due to the way in which the costs of company cars are calculated according to CO2 emissions, with only the 308 and the Volvo V40 qualifying for this percentage scale, while comparable Focii and Golfs are at a higher one. And most Dutch people like cheap so they choose the 308 or the V40, however that does make the roads less boring than it would have been with the Golfs, being the standard Dutch company car since the 90's.

That’s good though! Us smaller manufacturers like PSA and Volvo need all the help they can get from the markets they can find and it’s good to hear they are doing well sales-wise due to their CO2 levels. Sometimes the underdogs do win after all! ;)
